WHY?

Most people usually make their first blog post as to - why they are doing this, why they are blogging, what's my purpose? Well, I decided to post my "Why" later into my blog to see how successful this will be. So far I have been getting nothing but good feedback. I never would have expected so many people reach out to me how great and inspiring my blogs have been. This only helps me to know that people support what I'm doing, helps me to brainstorm new ideas and also helps me to continue blogging. In tonight's blog, I will be expressing my reasons to why I do this.

I remember having a journal when I was younger. I used to write in my journal everyday about how my day was, what made me happy or sad, which boy I had a crush on, just expressing my thoughts. I honestly never saw myself blogging up until a couple months ago. I wanted to start doing things for myself. I wanted to finally step out of my comfort zone and tell myself that I'm finally going to start this! I wanted to be more open in how I feel and express my thoughts in what I love to do. I love fashion and I also love talking about inner beauty. Inner beauty was always in area I struggled with as a little girl. I had a hard time expressing my emotions and be closed off to a certain degree. As in my previous post, I was never confident within myself to even talk about inner beauty to an audience. As I got older, surrounding myself with people who helped me through this process has helped me to understand that it's okay to express how you feel. It is a sense of relief when you let yourself be free. You also gain more confidence but most importantly peace within yourself. Blogging gives me a platform for me to voice my ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Whether my passion would be business, cooking, marketing, or photography, blogging gives me the opportunity to connect and network with likeminded individuals who share the same passion as me.

Another reason why I love to blog is to make a difference. I was always told I gave great advice when it came to life and how I see certain things. I never realized I had such an influence in so many peoples lives! That means the world to me. Just knowing that my thoughts can have an effect on a person's life. I want my blog to be that blog that can touch others and help people going through certain phases or circumstances such as depression, break-up, and etc. It's not always easy talking to someone on a personal level about these issues. I want my blog to be therapeutic to people and be a sense of relief. I want my audience to feel an emotional connection so that they will want to be hungry for more every Thursday nights post. I never imagined myself making a difference towards just a blog post. It's interesting to see how the creativity of the mind works. It's amazing to see your thoughts being influenced by another human's mind. My thoughts and feelings can control a persons mind to think differently or see things in another perspective.

Blogging also helps me be creative with my thoughts. After I write my post for the day, more than likely I have a topic for my next post all prepared. It is all about the creativity in the mind. I love that you can play around with your thoughts but also be creative about it. It's like painting your own imagination on a keyboard.

I say all this to say, love what you do. You have to start somewhere. I never would of thought to be writing on blog on a Thursday night at the age of 27 years old. Sometimes you just have to take that risk. You will only know if you take that step forward. I am happy that I am starting this journey. So far I have been getting nothing but great feedback. This only helps and pushes me to brainstorm more ideas. This is my "Why?".

Natural Beauty

What defines "natural beauty"? So let's break this down, the word natural is defined as existing in nature and not made by people, without any chemical substances, antonym or artificial. Beauty is the quality of being physically attractive and give pleasure to the sense of mind. Natural beauty can be can signified as wearing no make-up, looking simple, however you want it to mean to you. I've always been around the fashion/beauty industry most of my life. It was always something that always interested me. In today's blog, I will be discussing my thoughts on the nature of natural beauty.

Does putting on make-up look beautiful? I think make-up can do a lot of things to a person. It can make a person look different. I never started to get into make-up until I was in college. I started to experiment new products here and there. Now it just became a daily routine for me. There are different types of foundation, lipsticks, blushes from different brands. The make-up industry has expanded over the years. I always thought my winged cat-eye liner, bold lip and my highlighter would do me the trick. Although, I love putting that on my face. Simplicity stands out more than being extravagant in my personal experience. I used to never leave the house without my winged liner. It was just something that I couldn't resisted doing. I never understood why? Throughout the years, I genuinely stopped caring. When I say, "stopped caring", I meant finally being Jane. Being Jane meant the Natural Jane. The Jane without her winged liner, bold lip and amazing highlighter (That is my favorite things to do! That glow though!). I hated my droopy Asian eyes. My eyes is what made Jane. Embracing how exotic they looked according to the compliments I would get. Don't get me wrong, I do believe in artificial beauty but there is a time and place for that. There is nothing wrong with getting decked out for a birthday party. All that can be done naturally.

Natural beauty is what you are born with. The person you are behind the make-up the extravagant clothes. Behind all that is YOU. Now how does plastic surgery come into the picture? There are so many people getting their chest done, buttocks done and their face done. What makes them not happy about what they have? Is it insecurities or is it something that they genuinely want to do? What drives people to even think about changing something about themselves. Why even invest money on sacrificing something you are going change for the rest of your life? People have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies but I believe God is a creator of all things. In a Christian world, God has created you beautifully. I think even having that option is upsetting because they have access to damage their body (If it's not done correctly). I'm not here to degrade anyone with plastic surgery, by all means you have the right to do whatever you want, but behind all that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. As in the Bible is states "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are you works; my soul knows it very well" Psalms 139:14. Society has created an imaginary norm that looking a certain way is signified as beauty. So who cares if your buttocks is small, if your chest is small or you hate your nose? God built you a certain way so you learn how to deal with what your body is created to be. Sometimes what you desire is not what God wants. He wants to show you how to embrace yourself in the midst of what you're not happy with. Loving his creation and loving yourself.

Beauty is an attitude. It is a geometry for the visual but grounded for the personality. The common saying "Beauty is the eye of the beholder" speaks for itself. True beauty is a person who moves my heart, soul and imagination and just stirs something in me.What we believe is beautiful reveals the truth about us.

Let's Dress Classy & Sexy

I've always had a difficult time finding the right clothes for my size growing up. As I mentioned in my previous blogs, I am a tall thick Korean American born and raised in New York. Being tall was already a given. While all my friends were a size 0 or 00 (I can't believe that even exists!), I was wearing plus size or my pants size were always in the double digits. As a tall thick girl, there are certain outfits or clothes that are just not meant for us. I've learned to except that and I figured out my own ways to create the look I've always wanted. How did Jane do that now? How did she create the look that she wanted? How can we be classy but sexy at the same time? I've already been the scandalous type. The years of my early 20s have been my crazy stage. Wearing short skirts and low shirts doesn't define classy and sexy in my eyes. Sexy is a matter of attitude. Confidence defines sexy but obviously you cannot just wear confidence out of the house. Here are some tips for dressing classy and sexy.

1. Make sure you aren't showing all of your goodies: Women were built with different shapes and sizes. Number 1 rule, do not reveal too much. If you are heavy chested, it maybe difficult to find yourself wearing a v-neck shirt. A little cleavage may not hurt but find a scoop neck can be another alternative. Mini skirts and booty shorts are always a big fat no. Even in a business setting it's not tolerable. Buttocks sticking out of your shorts isn't so classy. It's always good to have anything that is above the knee. Less isn't always more you know.

2. DOPE Footwear: I used to never be a fan of heels because of how tall I was. I started wearing heels when I started working at Wall Street. I saw all these girls wearing them and they looked taller than me. Seeing these women inspired to be more confident in my height. Wearing a great pair of heels can change the way you carry yourself, your posture, your strut and if you got great legs, own it! It honestly makes your outfit look so much better. I love being a 5'8 women owning in 3-4 inch heels. Those inches may not be for everyone. Make sure you find heels you are comfortable in.

3. Owning that one Dress:  Every women has that one dress they feel comfortable in. In can be that dress that makes their body look like an hourglass. Own that dress and wear it with confidence! You can never go wrong with a tight bodycon dress that goes above the knee. A simple bodycon dress creates an imagination and shows all those curves! There is nothing wrong with showing your curves, just as long your covered in both departments.

4. Comfortability: We always want to make sure we are comfortable in anything we wear. Something as comfortable as wearing a pair of jeans and a button down is classy but yet sexy. Although that seems "basic", some men honestly like the simple things in life. They love a woman in a t-shirt and jeans. That's as simple as it gets. The less effort you create, the more attention you get.

5. Be Creative: Color combinations are always fun to play around with when it comes to dressing up. You can never go wrong with black. Black is a universal color every looks good in. Pick colors that go well with your skin tone.

6. Good Behaviour: Being classy but sexy is about more than just the clothes you wear. It's about how you present yourself. How a women present themselves defines who they are. Being drunk at a bar, walking all sloppy with a ripped dress isn't the most attractive thing in the world. Be mindful of your surroundings. Good posture is also a great sign of being sophisticated.

These are all the tips on how to dress classy and sexy. It is important to always be comfortable in your own skin. Overall, confidence is the most important outfit you can wear on a daily basis. I've come along way in my journey to be the woman I am today. If it wasn't more my experiences in life, I would not be here writing this blog and helping other women out in the world. Marilyn Monroe states "Your clothes should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to show you're a lady."
