Back-To-School Outfits

August is slowly coming to an end. Fall is just around the corner! The end of August would usually be the time when everyone goes back to school. That means Back-To-School Shopping! I always enjoyed when my mom took my sister and I Back-To-School shopping. We would go early in the morning to avoid all the lines, crowds and traffic. Now that I look back, it's been 4 years I've graduated out of college. It definitely has been a long time. School was always a great way make friends and reconnect during the beginning of the school year. For all the fine fashionista's out there, we always want to make a great impression. We want to look our best on the first day of school.

Everyone has their own style they want to create. Below will be some pictures and ideas you can put together for a great look on your first day back!

1. Fall-in in Love Look: Your typical Fall look with destroyed jeans, suede blue booties, Paisley patterned kimono and a mocha colored scared! Dark colors always make me feel festive during the Fall.

2. Loafer Slides: How cute are they? Loafer slides are the new fad this year. Pair these up with some nice skinny jeans and an off-the-shoulder top!

3. Comfy Biker Chick: There is nothing wrong with being comfortable and being fashionable at the same time. Probably the best combo ever! Parachute jumper (Amazon for super cheap!) and top it off with leather vest, body chain and leather booties!

4.  Bring Back the 90's: Adidas are back in style! The 90's are coming back! Let's bring out the denim jackets with the graphic tees to create this awesome look!

3. Bohemian: The fringe on the dress what makes it fun. Top it off with cute leggings and open toe booties.

4. Sassy Cheetah: If you're a diva and always needs to be looked presentable at all times, this is definitely the look for you. Burgundy is definitely a signature color during the Fall. A nice burgundy skirt with some tights and booties. Top it off with a cheetah print fur coat with create this sassy look!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons of all time. Not too hot, not too cold, it's just right. I love getting together clothes during this season because there are so many to choose from. These are some outfits I have created together in the past. Let's start the school year off right with an awesome look!

Selfie's

Happy August! It has been long overdue for a new post. Summer time is slowly coming to an end. Today's blog will focus on the topic of "Selfies". Why are Selfies so popular nowadays in this generation? Selfie's have become the ultimate way of taking pictures. On, Instagram there are about 300 million hashtags on selfies. It is a fun way to capture a moment with a friend or anything that means something to you on a personal level. In this blog, I will be discussing how "Selfie's are beneficial in a beauty and fashion environment.

Selfies have become so popular ever since the iPhone expanded there camera in the front. It has to be the best thing invented. I will never forget using my Canon digital camera to take selfies. I would take about 20 pictures to make sure I get the best photo. Now with all the amazing iPhone camera effects, taking a Selfie takes two seconds to capture a perfect photo.  When a woman is feelin' herself, whether it be through her make-up or an amazing outfit, taking a Selfie is to remind herself on that day, she felt great and she enjoyed every piece that she created in that photo (At least that's what I do haha). Make-up and clothes are a great way to expand business and to expand new trends. We have many woman taking photos of themselves with full make-up applications. This is their way of promoting the make-up business but also promoting what they used on their face. Same goes along with Fashion Clothing. We see a lot of women and men promoting different outfits every day to promote the latest and newest trends. This also creates and idea for women in different sizes. Many women struggle with finding the "right size". Selfies are a great way to relate with the consumers who struggle with finding the correct clothing size, matching of make-up color, or what works for them. There will always be someone out there that will relate with you to provide that access of comfort to satisfy everyone's needs. Trends are always changing, especially in the fashion world. It is our job as people to promote ourselves.

Some may argue and say that "Selfies" are peoples way of being conceited or they ware being self centered. Honestly, Computer Scientists have studied that taking Selfies are actually very healthy. Yes, that's right, apparently frequently taking selfies leads to an increase in body confidence and an overall improvement in the mood. If you feel good about yourself, capture the moment. Pictures are long lasting and memorable. It also brings our your inner beauty. Maybe you love the way your make-up looks? Or you love the outfit you have on today. Self care is not selfish. Self care is important and important to the mind, body and soul. We take Selfies because we want to feel accepted and loved. Having confidence in ourselves and our image allows us to proudly and comfortably open up to the world. I remember I hated the way I looked in a lot of my Selfies. When I feel good about myself, I take a Selfie and use it to my advantage.

So, don't be shy. Go snap away and take a photo of yourself!
Until next time!

Selfie Confession: I took this photo because I loved how I looked here. I love my summer time glow and my hair looks blonde and fabulous!

#GIRLBOSS

Welcome welcome welcome! Another week on Thursday thoughts with Jane. One topic I want to focus on is the word GIRL BOSS. The word Girl Boss, has so much meaning. It makes a woman sound superior, in control, a business woman, leader, and etc. The book "#GIRLBOSS"was inspired by a woman entrepreneur named Sophia Amoruso. She is the CEO of the fashion company called "Nasty Gal". She has always been independent, wise beyond her years, go-getter, but most of all motivated. She was motivated because she saw her NastyGal business grow into something huge. She started her business by bitting clothes on eBay and got her consumers through her Myspace page. Reading her book has inspired me to write a blog post and provide tips on how to become a GIRLBOSS. Truth is that many people will be sharing with your their career tips. Whether that is a professional or simply a person who loves and cares for you and your well-being. Sometimes you need to figure out what you want in your life. This year so far has taught me so many things about myself. I would've never thought to be writing a fashion blog. Today I will be sharing some tips on how to be a "Girl Boss"!

1. You: Find Your Expertise: To be a Girl Boss you have to put yourself first. Once you put yourself first, you learn to love yourself. Self love is so important. Sometimes we don't know what we want to do in life. Ask yourself, what is one thing you love to do and how you can make a profit out of what you love? At the end of the day, you are in control of your life. Sometimes we get caught up in other peoples time and dream, we loose ourselves in other people's dream. Every journey is a process.

2. Reading: Honestly, reading new books is a great way to learn and think.  There is nothing more attractive than stimulating the mind. It's so important to educate yourself if you want to be a Girl Boss! Just because you may have a Bachelors degree does not mean to stop educating yourself. I always do my best to learn something new everyday. As an entrepreneur, there is always room for expanding the mind!

3. Be Assertive: Somewhere hanging in the balance of being submissive and aggressive is being assertive. As far as women have come in a workplace, we're sometimes still faced with stereotypes. One thing to remember is to be assertive. Being submissive might lead you to being manipulated and walked on while being aggressive might lead to harsh and hostile work conditions. Being assertive is knowing when to take "no" for an answer and knowing when to push a little bit harder.

4. Save Money: If you're going to be a Girl Boss, you have to save money. There is a difference between wanting something and need something. There are a lot of things that we want in life but we can not afford to get them right now. They say "If you got to think about it, then do not buy it!". There is a common rule called the 50-30-20 Rule. It says that you shouldn't spend more than 50% of your paycheck on essentials, so this will cover food, transportation, housing, and etc. 30% of your paycheck would fall into your personal expenses such as dinner nights, movies, gym memberships and etc. Lastly, 20% of your paycheck should go to your bank. Regardless, you should be saving something. It's better to have more than less.

5. Vision Board: Get your old magazines and create a vision board. Start brainstorming and visualizing how you want your life to be on a board. You can get creative and even draw out what you want to succeed in life. This is a fun project to hang on your wall so you can be reminded of what you want to accomplish. You will be surprised in what you come up with!

6. Time Management: They say, if you're on time you're late! It's important to be at least 15 minutes early. Being your own boss, you lead by example. If you want people running on your time, as leaders you set the tone. If you want to run on Korean people time, I suggest you come an hour early (Haha).

7. Dress To Impress: Looks do matter. I repeat, LOOKS DO MATTER. As your business status changes, so will your appearance. You'll have to adjust your appearance, the way you move and present yourself. Always dress your best. Most girls feel confident when they are wearing a outfit they love and feel comfortable in. Some may use the "I am on a budget" quote. That is no excuse to look like a slob. Be the Girl Boss people look at and think "Dang this girl always got it all together". Always look your Girl Boss best!

8. Set Goals: I have a journal written down with tons of goals. A section filled with short term goals and long term goals. You always want to make sure your goals are attainable, specific and realistic. We all want to meet Santa but is that realistic? Probably not. Let's be real about them and attack them!

9. Take Risks: Taking a risk may seem intimidating because it's a change and some people don't like change. But nothing is more satisfying than seeing your dreams come true. When no one believed in you and lost some friends along the way but still making it happen.

10. Hater's Gonna Hate: It is scientifically proven that the amount of people that will support your new move will be small. Small amount of supports will be too busy pointing out all the difficulties, sacrifices and risks you will be taking. Be prepared for the negativity but don't let that bring you down. Instead let that push you and motivate you. Nothing is more better than a successful revenge.

--

These are Jane's steps on how to be a Girl Boss. Overall, it's all about pursing yourself and making your dreams happen. Sometimes it may mean to sacrifice a little but the end result will be the best reward. They say, work hard and play later!

Make-Up & Beauty Interview with JoJoCircus

Happy June! It's great to be back to share my thoughts and share some new ideas. In today's episode, I am happy to interview my talented and beautiful little sister Joan AKA JoJo. JoJo is a certified Make-Up Artist, graduated from M.U.D School (Make-Up Designory) in New York City. She has been such an inspiration in the beauty industry. There is never a time when we are walking together in the streets without someone giving her a compliment. I remember when the make-up industry hasn't grown yet, Jojo never gave up and continued to experiment new ideas. When family members were against her being a Make-Up Artist, she did not care and continued to pursue her dreams. Today, I am looking forward to go more in depth about Jojo's experience as a Make-Up Artist and what advice she can provide for the audience.

Interview with JoJo Circus

1. What makes you stand out as a Make-Up Artist?

What makes me stand out as a Make-Up Artist besides my bright blue hair, is being able to get creative and have fun playing with different colors and products.

2. What does your daily make-up routine look like?

I always start with a cleansed moisturized canvas. Skin Care is definitely a MUST when it comes to applying make-up in yourself. I will list in order how I put on my make-up on a daily basis:

  • Primer: Current favorite is my "First Aid Beauty Coconut Smoothie" primer.
  • Foundation: I always switch off my foundation but the one I reach for the most would be "Tarte Rainforest of the Sea" foundation. I love how the foundation looks on my skin!
  • Concealer: Current favorite is the famous "Tarte Shape Tape". Full coverage concealer, very lightweight and a little bit goes a long way. I use more of a peachy concealer to cover up my dark circles. No one wants to look tired!
  • Setting Powder: "RMCA No Color Powder" gives no flashbacks in your photos which is what I love in a setting powder.
  • Bronzer: "Girlatik Beauty Bronzer" in "Cabo" is my all time favorite. It gives me a beautiful summer bronzed skin!
  • Eyebrows: Currently loving the "LA Girl Brown Mechanical Pencil". This is definitely an affordable version of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.
  • Blush: I love any blushes that are coral. It gives me a pretty natural flush to my skin tone. "Too-Faced in Peach Beach" is my all time favorite.
  • Highlighter: Who doesn't love this part of their make-up routine?! I love using different highlighters for different types of looks I go for. I use at least two highlighters to give me the perfect amount of glow!
  • Eye Shadow: It all depends on what kind of look I'm going to create. If I want a pop of color, I love using the "Suva Beauty's: Cupcakes and Monster's" palette and the "Urban Decay's: Electric" palette. The more neutral palettes I would reach  for the "Violet Voss: Holy Grail" palette or "Morphe's: F35" palette.
  • Mascara: "Benefit: Roller Lash Mascara" is AMAZING!!!
  • False Lashes: I love applying false lashes especially since my lashes are always falling downwards. False lashes help me have existing lashes. "KoKo Lashes" in the style Goddess is my all time favorite!
  • Lips: My go to lip is "Jefferee Star's" Androgyny" Velour Lipsticks. I am obsessed with lip colors that have a mauve and plum tone.
3. What is your favorite make-up brand ad why would you recommend it?

My favorite make-up brand would have to be "Kat Von D" because I love her edgy style and I love that she has a lot of different colors in her collection. The pigmentation in her products are absolutely AMAZING! If you're a make-up lover and you're not afraid to play with colors, definitely try out her products. She is also Cruelty Free!

4. What are the biggest challenges Make-Up Artists have to face?

The biggest challenge a Make-Up Artist has to face is honestly challenging ourselves to become better, not being afraid to learn something new. Also becoming professional enough to charge the rate's you deserve as an Artist.

5. How often do you clean your make-up brushes?

I clean my brushes every time I'm done with my make-up application. In my opinion, if you do not clean your brushes, the products that we're used from previous can absorb into your brushes and dry up and can get stuck in the hairs. That causes the hairs on the brushes to fall out and ruin the brushes. Treat your brushes as if you were washing your own hair.

6. How long does it take for you to apply a full make-up application?

An hour and a half! This is one of my favorite questions anyone can ask me. The amount of jaws dropped and "WOW that's dedication!", I get everyday is pretty hilarious!

7. Do you prefer high name brand make-up or drug store make-up?

It all depends on what the product is. For example, a gel liner, mascara, and eyebrow pencil, these I prefer drug store affordable brands because you can always find an alternative product that works the same way. When it comes to foundation, lip products, eye shadows blush and highlighters, I usually go more towards the higher end because I feel like they have more pigmentation than a drug store brand.

8. Why do you choose the beauty industry?

I choose the beauty industry because the trends are always changing and it challenges and inspires me to learn more about the field. from high fashion, Avant Garde, Male Make-Up and editorials. I will never forget the time I worked my first photo shoot and seeing my work up on my schools website. I knew being in the beauty industry was something I knew I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

--

Jojo, thank you for taking the time to provide us useful information and tips on your journey as a Make-Up Artist! We wish you luck and continue pursuing your dreams! This is only the beginning.

What Is Your Purpose?

Welcome back to my new episode of my blog. I took a mini break last week to give myself Jane time. Recently I just started to realize, self help is so important. Sometimes we get so caught up with our robotic lives, our life becomes a routine. Especially living in New York, everyone is always on the go or moving so fast. When we hear purpose, we want this to mean something. We want to give our lives to making an impact, whether is to creating a positive change, building your own business, writing your own book and etc. So many of us are on a quest to find our purpose, or find a deeper expression of it.

For a couple years I got so caught up with constantly being "on the go", I forgot about my health, friends and family. I never realized it caught up to me because after awhile it became a norm to me. The "on the go" mentality has become a part of my life. I do understand the concept of  "hustling" and "you gotta do, what you gotta do", but after while you start really thinking. Your mind is telling you "Wow, when was the last time, I really hung out with my friend? When did I see my mom? Did my dad even come home? When did this happen?". You start noticing your life is on auto pilot, as if it never stops. Once I started to notice my body slowly tapping out, my ankle has gone worse, and my family needed me, it finally hit me.

I would've never thought on May 4, 2017, I would be starting a blog to inspire people and make a difference. My dream is to become an Entrepreneur in the fashion and beauty industry. I want to be a Girl Boss. I also want to inspire women and to help women within their inner beauty. It is never easy to pursue anything you want to build from scratch. Once I slowly started to limit certain things and do what's best for me. Blessings upon blessings have been coming my way. Throughout the week, I post a photo on Instagram of myself that says "Thursday Thoughts", just to get the media flowing with my blog and to also get the message delivered to the audience through social media. One of the photos I wore a dress from an online fashion brand called Fashionnova. I figured I tagged them onto my photo just to see what happens. Next thing you know, I get a comment on my photo and a "like". Once I saw that on my News Feed, my mouth dropped and I was an awe. It might have not been a big deal, but to me it meant so much. Just for one of the most popular online Fashion website to acknowledge my photo was an honor. This shows me that progress is slowly in the works.

Your life purpose is the reason why you exist. It is the reason for being. It took awhile for me to realize what my purpose was. Sometimes we have to ask ourselves hard questions. Ask ourselves, is this worth it? Is this something I want to be doing for the rest of my life? If anyone was to ask me years ago what my life purpose was, I would probably said - "I want to make a lot of money, get married and have kids". Although those are true, but that is a typical answer you would give to anyone. What is it that I REALLY want? I want to sink deeper into what satisfies me. Finding your purpose is also finding yourself. You start to see certain qualities in yourself you thought you never had. I realized I can probably be an awesome singer or dancer (You will never catch me doing any! Maybe dancing.. but singing NO! Haha!). Nevertheless, life with a purpose will drive you to wake up in the morning. First figuring out what your purpose takes some time and thinking.

1. What is that you REALLY want?
2. What makes me HAPPY?
3. What gives me PEACE OF MIND and FULFILLS ME INSIDE?

Vision is also something that you will start to see once to start achieving your life's purpose. You have to see it to create it. Once you see the vision, you focus on your mission. Your mission is how you will fulfill your dreams. Your mission basically sets instructions how to do something. Always make sure you are specific about your goals. You don't want to just write the basics, be specific. Give yourself a time frame or a number!

Lastly, understand your value. Your values are the principles and the ideals that define who you are. What are some characteristics that describe you as a person? Who do we surround ourselves with. It's very important to be around people who are always going to be beneficial to you in your life. Sometimes we have to be around people bigger than us to be inspired and just grow from their experiences. Growing pains are necessary. Bitterness is a result of clinging to negative experiences. It serves you no good and closes the door to your future.

WHY?

Most people usually make their first blog post as to - why they are doing this, why they are blogging, what's my purpose? Well, I decided to post my "Why" later into my blog to see how successful this will be. So far I have been getting nothing but good feedback. I never would have expected so many people reach out to me how great and inspiring my blogs have been. This only helps me to know that people support what I'm doing, helps me to brainstorm new ideas and also helps me to continue blogging. In tonight's blog, I will be expressing my reasons to why I do this.

I remember having a journal when I was younger. I used to write in my journal everyday about how my day was, what made me happy or sad, which boy I had a crush on, just expressing my thoughts. I honestly never saw myself blogging up until a couple months ago. I wanted to start doing things for myself. I wanted to finally step out of my comfort zone and tell myself that I'm finally going to start this! I wanted to be more open in how I feel and express my thoughts in what I love to do. I love fashion and I also love talking about inner beauty. Inner beauty was always in area I struggled with as a little girl. I had a hard time expressing my emotions and be closed off to a certain degree. As in my previous post, I was never confident within myself to even talk about inner beauty to an audience. As I got older, surrounding myself with people who helped me through this process has helped me to understand that it's okay to express how you feel. It is a sense of relief when you let yourself be free. You also gain more confidence but most importantly peace within yourself. Blogging gives me a platform for me to voice my ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Whether my passion would be business, cooking, marketing, or photography, blogging gives me the opportunity to connect and network with likeminded individuals who share the same passion as me.

Another reason why I love to blog is to make a difference. I was always told I gave great advice when it came to life and how I see certain things. I never realized I had such an influence in so many peoples lives! That means the world to me. Just knowing that my thoughts can have an effect on a person's life. I want my blog to be that blog that can touch others and help people going through certain phases or circumstances such as depression, break-up, and etc. It's not always easy talking to someone on a personal level about these issues. I want my blog to be therapeutic to people and be a sense of relief. I want my audience to feel an emotional connection so that they will want to be hungry for more every Thursday nights post. I never imagined myself making a difference towards just a blog post. It's interesting to see how the creativity of the mind works. It's amazing to see your thoughts being influenced by another human's mind. My thoughts and feelings can control a persons mind to think differently or see things in another perspective.

Blogging also helps me be creative with my thoughts. After I write my post for the day, more than likely I have a topic for my next post all prepared. It is all about the creativity in the mind. I love that you can play around with your thoughts but also be creative about it. It's like painting your own imagination on a keyboard.

I say all this to say, love what you do. You have to start somewhere. I never would of thought to be writing on blog on a Thursday night at the age of 27 years old. Sometimes you just have to take that risk. You will only know if you take that step forward. I am happy that I am starting this journey. So far I have been getting nothing but great feedback. This only helps and pushes me to brainstorm more ideas. This is my "Why?".

Natural Beauty

What defines "natural beauty"? So let's break this down, the word natural is defined as existing in nature and not made by people, without any chemical substances, antonym or artificial. Beauty is the quality of being physically attractive and give pleasure to the sense of mind. Natural beauty can be can signified as wearing no make-up, looking simple, however you want it to mean to you. I've always been around the fashion/beauty industry most of my life. It was always something that always interested me. In today's blog, I will be discussing my thoughts on the nature of natural beauty.

Does putting on make-up look beautiful? I think make-up can do a lot of things to a person. It can make a person look different. I never started to get into make-up until I was in college. I started to experiment new products here and there. Now it just became a daily routine for me. There are different types of foundation, lipsticks, blushes from different brands. The make-up industry has expanded over the years. I always thought my winged cat-eye liner, bold lip and my highlighter would do me the trick. Although, I love putting that on my face. Simplicity stands out more than being extravagant in my personal experience. I used to never leave the house without my winged liner. It was just something that I couldn't resisted doing. I never understood why? Throughout the years, I genuinely stopped caring. When I say, "stopped caring", I meant finally being Jane. Being Jane meant the Natural Jane. The Jane without her winged liner, bold lip and amazing highlighter (That is my favorite things to do! That glow though!). I hated my droopy Asian eyes. My eyes is what made Jane. Embracing how exotic they looked according to the compliments I would get. Don't get me wrong, I do believe in artificial beauty but there is a time and place for that. There is nothing wrong with getting decked out for a birthday party. All that can be done naturally.

Natural beauty is what you are born with. The person you are behind the make-up the extravagant clothes. Behind all that is YOU. Now how does plastic surgery come into the picture? There are so many people getting their chest done, buttocks done and their face done. What makes them not happy about what they have? Is it insecurities or is it something that they genuinely want to do? What drives people to even think about changing something about themselves. Why even invest money on sacrificing something you are going change for the rest of your life? People have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies but I believe God is a creator of all things. In a Christian world, God has created you beautifully. I think even having that option is upsetting because they have access to damage their body (If it's not done correctly). I'm not here to degrade anyone with plastic surgery, by all means you have the right to do whatever you want, but behind all that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. As in the Bible is states "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are you works; my soul knows it very well" Psalms 139:14. Society has created an imaginary norm that looking a certain way is signified as beauty. So who cares if your buttocks is small, if your chest is small or you hate your nose? God built you a certain way so you learn how to deal with what your body is created to be. Sometimes what you desire is not what God wants. He wants to show you how to embrace yourself in the midst of what you're not happy with. Loving his creation and loving yourself.

Beauty is an attitude. It is a geometry for the visual but grounded for the personality. The common saying "Beauty is the eye of the beholder" speaks for itself. True beauty is a person who moves my heart, soul and imagination and just stirs something in me.What we believe is beautiful reveals the truth about us.

Let's Dress Classy & Sexy

I've always had a difficult time finding the right clothes for my size growing up. As I mentioned in my previous blogs, I am a tall thick Korean American born and raised in New York. Being tall was already a given. While all my friends were a size 0 or 00 (I can't believe that even exists!), I was wearing plus size or my pants size were always in the double digits. As a tall thick girl, there are certain outfits or clothes that are just not meant for us. I've learned to except that and I figured out my own ways to create the look I've always wanted. How did Jane do that now? How did she create the look that she wanted? How can we be classy but sexy at the same time? I've already been the scandalous type. The years of my early 20s have been my crazy stage. Wearing short skirts and low shirts doesn't define classy and sexy in my eyes. Sexy is a matter of attitude. Confidence defines sexy but obviously you cannot just wear confidence out of the house. Here are some tips for dressing classy and sexy.

1. Make sure you aren't showing all of your goodies: Women were built with different shapes and sizes. Number 1 rule, do not reveal too much. If you are heavy chested, it maybe difficult to find yourself wearing a v-neck shirt. A little cleavage may not hurt but find a scoop neck can be another alternative. Mini skirts and booty shorts are always a big fat no. Even in a business setting it's not tolerable. Buttocks sticking out of your shorts isn't so classy. It's always good to have anything that is above the knee. Less isn't always more you know.

2. DOPE Footwear: I used to never be a fan of heels because of how tall I was. I started wearing heels when I started working at Wall Street. I saw all these girls wearing them and they looked taller than me. Seeing these women inspired to be more confident in my height. Wearing a great pair of heels can change the way you carry yourself, your posture, your strut and if you got great legs, own it! It honestly makes your outfit look so much better. I love being a 5'8 women owning in 3-4 inch heels. Those inches may not be for everyone. Make sure you find heels you are comfortable in.

3. Owning that one Dress:  Every women has that one dress they feel comfortable in. In can be that dress that makes their body look like an hourglass. Own that dress and wear it with confidence! You can never go wrong with a tight bodycon dress that goes above the knee. A simple bodycon dress creates an imagination and shows all those curves! There is nothing wrong with showing your curves, just as long your covered in both departments.

4. Comfortability: We always want to make sure we are comfortable in anything we wear. Something as comfortable as wearing a pair of jeans and a button down is classy but yet sexy. Although that seems "basic", some men honestly like the simple things in life. They love a woman in a t-shirt and jeans. That's as simple as it gets. The less effort you create, the more attention you get.

5. Be Creative: Color combinations are always fun to play around with when it comes to dressing up. You can never go wrong with black. Black is a universal color every looks good in. Pick colors that go well with your skin tone.

6. Good Behaviour: Being classy but sexy is about more than just the clothes you wear. It's about how you present yourself. How a women present themselves defines who they are. Being drunk at a bar, walking all sloppy with a ripped dress isn't the most attractive thing in the world. Be mindful of your surroundings. Good posture is also a great sign of being sophisticated.

These are all the tips on how to dress classy and sexy. It is important to always be comfortable in your own skin. Overall, confidence is the most important outfit you can wear on a daily basis. I've come along way in my journey to be the woman I am today. If it wasn't more my experiences in life, I would not be here writing this blog and helping other women out in the world. Marilyn Monroe states "Your clothes should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to show you're a lady."

Dressing Modestly

As an Korean American woman, I've experienced many difficulties with my dressing when I was in my early 20s due to culture and etc. I genuinely love talking about this topic only because I was always used to get defensive and uncomfortable talking about it. Now I can sit here and say, I've grown to understand and I'm comfortable under my own skin. As I write about the modesty of dressing, this is not to judge or points fingers but to mainly express my view points through my past life.

Modesty is such a touchy and controversial topic to some women in this society. Growing up in a Korean household, it was not easy to have personal conversations, or even have confrontational conversations with our parents about how to dress, what to wear or even talk about how to be a classy woman. As I said in my previous blog, I basically had to learn everything my own. In college, I started to gain a lot of confidence in myself physically. The reason why I say Physically is because I used to hate the way I look. As an Asian chick, I was built a little differently than most. I was tall, thick and big chested. I started to loose weight during my early 20s and my physical features started to change as I got older. I was able to wear basically anything I wanted (Which was like a dream come true!). I must say, all my clothes were very revealing. Short shorts, short dresses, see-through leggings, chest out, you name it! I thought that was Jane being Jane and being comfortable under my own skin. Why was I dressing the way I did? Why did I feel the need for my clothes to be so flashy and showy? I never understood why. I realized being flashy was my way of building confidence but I was seeking attention in the wrong way. Some women wonder why men are always cat calling us or "hitting" on us. What message are we sending out to people. Yes, we do not have control over what people say but at the same time, what message are we really delivering?

Every time an elderly women would confront me about how I used to dress, I was always so quick to get defensive. My defensive mechanism would always be "This is me and you can't change me!". I never had older women in my space to help me go through this process. I had my mother but she was a Korean mom just helping us live day by day. In the bible it states, "I desire, that women would adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness with good works. [1 Timothy 2:8-10]". Going back to church in 2014 and my position as a manager in the beauty industry has made me see modesty in a whole another level. Aside from Christianty, in a business world, you want to be taken seriously. Looks do matter and looks have to be presentable. That may mean, a dress above your knees and a blazer to be looking like a real OG Boss (Haha). As a manager in the beauty industry, it is important for me too not only represent the company but to also set an example as a leader. At the end of the day, people are looking up to me.

As I get older, I'm realizing certain clothes at a certain age is not tolerable. I don't think wearing short shorts at the age of 27 is quite attractive. As a Christian woman, I believe it's important to be concerned with yourself because the word says so. Modesty is about who you worship. I play the piano at my church every Sunday. It's important for me to look my Sunday best because I am commanded to adorn myself in a way that is fitting for worship in front of an audience. Modesty isn't not only just about clothing, it's also about the behavior and attitude as a woman. No human being wants to be around a contentious woman. A woman with class is always attractive to the opposite sex. It's how we communicate and how we can relate to others. Modesty also is sensitive towards sin. In the bible when Paul talks about woman's apparel should be worn with modesty, he is talking about a demeanor of reference, showing respect to oneself and a regard for others. Basically, a woman would be so sensitive to sin, knowing that sin is offensive to God and that she would not come close to try provoking it in others. Modesty is about true freedom and not repression. Modesty can come off as rules and restriction when that's not the case. When modesty is motivated from the heart, the exact opposite is true.

Being 27, I started to see things differently as I got older. I realized it was so important for me to surround myself elderly women. I was always so used to being independent and the oldest in my family that I didn't realized I needed help. As a woman, I am taken more seriously and respected. There are so many classy outfits that can make a woman feel sexy and beautiful inside and out. The reason why I'm so passionate about this topic because I was insecure and hated myself. I'm happy for my uncomfortable stages of life, because I've grown to be the woman God has called me to be

Confidence is Key

The word confidence means: the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something. Why is it so important for us women to be confident? Why do some women struggle with confidence? These are questions we struggle with on a daily basis. We wake up thinking about what we have to wear and how we are going to present ourselves.

Growing up in a Korean household, I was never told what looked good or etc. The Korean culture is so big on what looks presentable and so quick to judge. If anything, I was always told I looked "fat" in anything I wore. I was very tall and thick for a Korean girl at my age at the time. All the cute clothes my friends would wear, I was not able to wear them due to my height and size. I struggle with finding clothes my size. Due to this factor, I was never confident in anything I wore. I was consistently made fun of, being called "Godzilla" and "fat". When I look back at it now, I think it hilarious. Overall, this made my self esteem extremely low.

What really helped me through this process was when I got to college. Realizing there was just more to life. That's when I really got into Fashion and realized, I can wear what I want being a plus sized Korean chick. If anything being "thick" was the common thing. I embraced who I was under my own skin. I loved the idea of creating new outfits, different designs of clothing, being unique, standing out and etc. I liked being different and creating my own Stylist. That's how I gained my confidence. Fashion was my way to create my identity and to put together something that I know I would feel comfortable in.

The biggest key is to find your identity. Look for what you are passionate about. Here are some keys to being confident:

1. Take control of yourself. Change something about you do not like!
2. Take the time and effort to make yourself look good. When you look good, you feel good!
3. Dress to impress. People will always take you seriously when you are dressed apart.
4. Selfies! Don't be scared to take pictures of yourself! Self love is important!
5. Think positive. Don't be negative about yourself.
6. Get to know yourself. Learning something new is always a great stimulation to your mind.

Stay Blessed. Confidence is Key.
Wake, Pray & Slay!

Until next time,
Jane
